HM|DCC App goes Android

Hornby has launched the Android version of its new HM|DCC Bluetooth model railway control app, which is now available from the Google Play Store.

Free to download, the new app is now available across the Android and iOS platforms and when combined with locomotives fitted with compatible HM7000 Bluetooth decoders enables users to operate a layout direct from a suitable device, such as a mobile phone or tablet.

In addition to Bluetooth layout control, the app also currently offers 26 different sound profiles that can be downloaded to one of Hornby’s Bluetooth enabled sound decoders. Decoder settings can also be adjusted in real-time, providing instant results when refining control of a specific locomotive.

Hornby has also introduced several new free-to-download HM|DCC Triplex sound profiles in conjunction with the launch of the Android app, which are also available for the iOS platform too, with examples of LNER ‘B12’ 4-6-0, LMS ‘Black Five’ 4-6-0, LNER ‘A1’ 4-6-2 Tornado sound projects, together with BR Class 50 and Class 55 diesels.
