Hornby Class 91 project update
The latest edition of Hornby's Engine Shed online blog has revealed how far Hornby have come with the CAD design of the Class 91 including sharing the latest development drawings for 91002 and 91118.
The CAD above represents the build of R3891, 91118 The Fusiliers in LNER livery.
The CAD above represents the build of R3890, 91002 Durham Cathedral in BR Intercity.
In June 2019 the Hornby team visited Hitachi Rail Europe's Bounds Green Depot in London to survey a number of Class 91 locomotives. Particular attention was focused on the pantograph, a traditionally difficult part to model with realism versus operation being key factors.
The latest Engine shed has revealed how far they have come with CAD design of the pantograph and how it'll sit on the final production model by highlighting its construction and the materials that will be used to make it.
