Voting for the 2022 Hornby Magazine Model Railway Awards is now open right here on KeyModelWorld! MARK CHIVERS highlights this year’s nominees.
It has been another phenomenal year for releases with 31 all-new locomotives and multiple units released across ‘OO’, ‘O’, ‘N’ and ‘OO9’, including a handful of retooled models to the latest specifications.
Categories follow last year’s awards including those shown below covering motive power, newly-tooled rolling stock releases and the coveted Manufacturer of the Year Award, together with Innovation of the Year, Retailer of the Year, Specialist Retailer of the Year and Layout of the Year.
This year’s awards also see a new category added – Model Railway YouTuber of the Year. A shortlist of ten nominees has been selected for you to cast your vote.
Voting is open from 9am on Thursday September 1 and closes at 5pm on Friday September 16 2022.

The winners of the 2022 Hornby Magazine Model Railway Awards will be revealed on Saturday October 8 in a special ceremony after the Great Electric Train Show, online at KeyModelWorld and in the following issue of Hornby Magazine.

Online voting opens at 9am on September 1, 2022 and the closing date for votes is September 16, 2022 at 5pm GMT. The winners of the Great Electric Train Show VIP package and tickets will be notified no later than September 19, 2022. There is no cash prize alternative and the Editor’s decision is final. Travel to or from the event is not included in the prize. Competitions are not open to employees of Key Publishing, their family members or anyone else professionally connected to the company.
