A second venue is being added to the Great Electric Train Show programme for 2021 with events planned for Manchester and Milton Keynes in the New Year.

Hornby Magazine’s Twelve Trees Junction will be making a return to the exhibition scene at the Great Electric Train Show Manchester.

2021 IS shaping up to be an exciting year for the Hornby Magazine Great Electric Train Show with the addition of a second venue in Manchester in March 2021 to join the October 2021 event in Milton Keynes. The news comes as we confirm that the October 2020 show in Milton Keynes will not be taking place due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Nick Hughes will be exhibiting Hyde Lane Depot in Manchester in March 2021.

Charles Insley’s Kinwardine Wharf will showcase narrow gauge modelling.

The new Great Electric Train Show Manchester event will take place on the weekend of March 13/14 2021 at the EventCity exhibition venue in TraffordCity on the outskirts of the city. The location is adjacent to the popular Trafford Centre with easy access from the motorway network and there are direct public transport links from Manchester City Centre via Metrolink and bus routes. EventCity also offers onsite free parking for visitors together with refreshments and full disabled access.

Mark Pollard’s extended Old Elms Park now models a depot yard together with a steam era roundhouse.

The Great Electric Train Show Manchester will build on the successes of the Great Electric Train Show at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes. Highlights include up to 30 working layouts, over 50 trade stands plus demonstrations and more.

Layouts confirmed for March 13/14 include the return of Hornby Magazine’s Twelve Trees Junction modelling the Southern Region in ‘OO’ gauge (see pages 90-97), Nick Hughes’ attractive ‘O’ gauge diesel era layout Hyde Lane Depot, the Live Steam Roadshow operating Hornby’s ‘OO’ gauge live steam locomotives, Charles Insley’s ‘OO9’ narrow gauge layout Kinwardine Wharf, the expanded Old Elm Park by Mark Pollard modelling a steam era depot in ‘O’ gauge and Redruth MRC’s busy ‘OO’ gauge modern image layout Hoopers Aggregates. Further layouts will be announced in forthcoming issues of Hornby Magazine.
