THE HORNBY '9F' was one of those ‘most wanted’ models on my list from an early age – there was something so incredible about the BR 2-10-0s. That desire to own a ‘9F’ model never passed and the arrival of the Bachmann model in the early 2000s prompted me to add a couple to my collection. However, there is now a new choice as Hornby has developed an all-new model of these giants of the British Railways steam era to current standards which arrives 51 years since Hornby Railways’ first product in 1971.
