Hornby has taken delivery of a running sample of its forthcoming all-new ‘OO’ gauge Class 755 ‘Flirt’ Bi-mode Multiple Unit (BMU).
Hornby’s new model is based on the three and four-car articulated units that operate as part of the Greater Anglia fleet. A distinguising feature is the ‘power-pack’ vehicle towards the centre of each unit.
Hornby is developing two 'OO' gauge Class 755/3 three-car units (Cat No. R3963/A) and two Class 755/4 four-car examples (R3964A).
Following tweaks to the running characteristics of the sample, the project will progress to the next development stage.
Priced at £362.99 for three-car units and £411.49 for four-car packs, release is expected during spring 2024.
