With design work complete, the company recently shared photographs of the first printed stereo samples of its all-new ‘OO’ gauge ‘P2’ 2-8-2s in streamlined and new-build conditions. These stereo bodyshells are used to check clearance tolerances and dimensions before progressing to the next stage.

Three new ‘P2’ models are planned as 2002 Earl Marischal with double smoke deflectors in LNER apple green (Cat No. R3984), streamlined 2003 Lord President in LNER apple green (R3985) and new-build 2007 Prince of Wales in LNER apple green (R3983), which is currently under construction by the A1 Trust at Darlington.
