Modelling Bewdley station with 3D printing

Having selected a suitable subject, Tristram Neal outlines how he used modern printing techniques to create a bespoke station building, based on a well-known Severn Valley Railway prototype at Bewdley in this detailed step by step modelling guide.

WHEN DEVELOPING your model railway, there are a few processes you will have considered, such as baseboards, track plans, then scenery and buildings. For my Great Western Railway (GWR) themed layout, the wishlist included a platform which followed the curve of the track and then, after adding the fencing and the lights, I needed to consider what type of building I would like to add. When considering your options for GWR structures, you will find a variety of plastic and card kits, as well as some cast resin buildings.
