A low relief building can really enhance a model railway scene, particularly where space is at a premium. In this guide we show how to make your own low relief bus depot – a classic town and city structure which can be built to any size.
The design for this building offers two bays together with a small office to one side. However, you could easily expand the building to have three or four openings or add additional sections in the same style but without doors for the bus company to service and maintain its fleet.

The challenge with any scratchbuilt structure like this is going from idea to reality. Where do you start? Size is the most important question and to set the wheels in motion, we used the Oxford Diecast Weymann Fanfare bus as a guide to how high the door openings should be which then determined the overall size.
