Triplex Sound has been an exciting development from Hornby and we have already been embracing its values for our own locomotives as well as project models to showcase here in Hornby Magazine’s digital control section.
Early on there were criticisms about the size of the chips and that they wouldn’t fit into small locomotives. However, while that is true in part when it comes to the Next18 format chips – they are larger than competitor sound chips with this connection in order to house the Bluetooth node – the 21-pin and 8-pin chips are no larger than their counterparts.
