HTG launches exclusive 'OO' Class 37/7
The Heavy Tractor Group (HTG) has commissioned a model of Accurascale’s Class 37 as 37714 for ‘OO’ gauge in DCC ready and DCC sound-fitted versions.
The model will appear in Railfreight Metals sector livery in unnamed condition, with Cardiff Canton name plates and depot plaques provided for separate fitment.
The sound recording was made from the real locomotive, which is preserved at the Great Central Railway in Loughborough and is owned by the Heavy Tractor Group. Other features will include a five-pole motor with twin flywheels and all-wheel drive, NEM coupling pockets, 21 pin DCC decoder socket and directional lighting.
Prices are set at £169.99 DCC Ready and £259.99 sound fitted. The model is due to be released in the second quarter of 2022.

37714 was built in 1961 as D6724 allocated to March Depot. It spent its early days on the Eastern Region and was allocated to Stratford, Ipswich and March. In 1974, it was renumbered as 37024.
Its work took it north, first to Gateshead and then onto Motherwell and Eastfield. It was also the last locomotive to pass through the Woodhead Tunnel in 1986. By 1988 the locomotive transferred to Cardiff Canton and entered the Class 37/7 refurbishment programme at Crewe Works, becoming 37714. After a spell in Spain working on high-speed railways, it was acquired by Direct Rail Services in 2013, with the Heavy Tractor Group securing the locomotive in 2017.
