Five very different colour schemes for two-seat MiG-29s are provided with this topical new 1/72 re-release by the Polish firm.
With the war in Ukraine now a year old, interest in the country’s military assets continues. One result is IBG Models’ recent repackaging of Trumpeter’s 1/72 MiG-29UB (item 72902), which comes with new decals so modellers can replicate airframes in widely differing liveries. These represent the variant’s appearance from the period of Ukrainian independence in 1992 to as late as 2016, with the advent of digital camouflage.
Trumpeter’s Fulcrums are generally well respected and feature fine detail; engraved panel lines as you’d expect from a modern tooling, and a pleasing cockpit housing instrument panels with recesses for the dials (with detail decals for the panel and side consoles), plus reasonable facsimiles of the K-36 ejection seat (although these lack firing handles). You can also post the canopy open or closed and the air intake foreign object damage doors are (correctly) rendered in the closed position for ground running.
