ICM’s 1/48 B-26B Marauder has been eagerly awaited; Mike Williams builds this splendid kit straight from the box.
ICM seems to be on a winning roll with its choice of twin-engine 1/48 World War Two aircraft, this new-tooling of the Martin B-26B Marauder being its latest bomber offering. The only other same-scale Marauder released as a mainstream kit was by Monogram way back in 1978 (subsequently re-boxed by Revell and Hasegawa), which seems odd given its success as a fast medium bomber in the European theatre of operations. The type was used predominantly by the US Army Air Forces (USAAF) but also found favour with the RAF and the French Air Force.

When ICM announced its intention to release a new 1/48 kit of this famous bomber, the modelling world metaphorically cheered in hope. It’s arrival a year later was no mean feat, considering the working conditions the folks at ICM are under given the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
