ICM UPSCALES ITS GERMAN KFK BOAT

Having already produced a 1/350 Kriegsfischkutter armed fishing vessel, the Ukrainian firm has just released a 1/144 new tooling. CHRIS CLIFFORD takes a look.

ICM UPSCALES ITS GERMAN KFK BOAT

Maritime modellers building in 1/350 scale received a treat late last year with ICM’s delightful KFK (Kriegsfischkutter). The KFK was basically a weaponised  fishing vessel, courtesy of a two flak gun platforms, fore and aft, and there were different sub-types for patrol, sub-hunting and the like. Many details were moulded integrally on the deck and hull of the ICM kit, which provided 28 parts in total. The new 1/144 kit (S.102), as you might imagine, is a more involved affair with 108 components – offering more refinement all round. A larger display stand is provided too, with separate ‘Kriegsfischkutter’ nameplates in relief.
