IsraDecal Studio’s new package is unmissable if you plan to build an Israeli Mirage III in 1/72 scale, as CHRIS CLIFFORD discusses.
Whether you are tackling Special Hobby’s splendid new Mirage III kit, or an older item, the new sheet from IsraDecal offers a wealth of markings. Coded IAF-115, Israeli Air Force Mirage IIIC/B Shahak, it provides not just common markings/stencilling and national insignia, but also unit badges and décor, plus generic runs of serial numbers so you can model various airframes.

Mirages in the classic bare metal, four-tone and low-visibility grey schemes can be produced, the instructions supplying useful period photos and artwork for reference. Mirages from ‘The First Fighter’, ‘The First Jet’, ‘The Bat’ and ‘The Negev’ Squadrons are all represented, including machines wearing ‘kills’ from the Six Day War and War of Attrition. One of the airframes sports the swollen nose of the ‘Tzniut’ reconnaissance fit.
This is a superb collection of decals for Mirage fans, but especially those keen on representing Israeli examples. It costs $31 direct from IsraDecal, but is also available in the UK at Hannants.
