Superb decals for three new colour schemes are provided with the Italian kitmaker's re-released 1/48 F-22A, as CHRIS CLIFFORD reports.
Arguably the poorer cousin to the F-35 when it comes to media coverage, the F-22 was the USA’s first stealth air superiority fighter – and is now somewhat long in the tooth. Italeri was quick to produce a 1/48 kit of the aircraft, first issuing it in 1999, even though the real machine didn’t enter frontline service until 2005. The first iteration replicated a test/demonstrator airframe, with nose-mounted instrumentation boom, but successive releases offer service schemes.
