Kernow Model Rail Centre’s eagerly awaited ‘OO’ gauge Great Western Railway (GWR) steam railmotor is about to enter production, following amendments to decorated samples received for evaluation in September.
KMRC’s newly-tooled models will include the Diagram O and Diagram R steam railmotors, with five examples planned initially as Diagram R No. 93 in as-preserved GWR lined crimson lake (Cat No. K2301) and No. 97 in simplified GWR chocolate and cream (K2302) and Diagram O No. 63 in GWR lined brown (K2303), No. 85 in GWR lined crimson lake (K2304) and No. 61 in GWR fully lined chocolate and cream (K2305).
Each will also receive a DCC upgrade to a Plux-22 Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, while DCC sound-fitted models will feature a ZIMO MS series sound decoder with YouChoos sound files. The sound project will also feature station destination announcements to match the various destination boards supplied with each of the models.
Prices are set at £189.99 DCC ready and £299.99 for DCC sound-fitted models, with a discount available for pre-orders. Release is expected in early 2023.
