Petersfield 'box for ‘OO’

Kernow Model Rail Centre (KMRC) has commissioned Bachmann to produce an exclusive 4mm scale model of the ex-London and South Western Railway (LSWR) Type 3a signal box at Petersfield in Hampshire (Cat No. 44-074X).

Built in the 1880s, the Grade II listed structure overlooks Station Road level crossing adjacent to Petersfield station on the London Waterloo to Portsmouth direct route. The signal box uniquely combines former LSWR Type 2 and Type 3 designs and retains its original equipment including ten-lever frame, locking rack and block instruments, although its future appears in some doubt, following a resignalling scheme on the line.

KMRC’s new ‘OO’ gauge Bachmann Scenecraft model will be decorated in Southern green and stone with brick finish and grey slate roof, plus white window frames and ornate valances. Priced at £79.99 each, this exclusive LSWR Type 3a signal box is available now.
