KMS Railtech launch HST and carriage projects for 'O' gauge

Scottish model railway retailer KMS Railtech has set its sights on modern image ‘O’ gauge readyto-run with the announcement of plans to develop the Class 43 HST power cars as well as Mk 2 and Mk 3 carriages for modern era modellers.

KMS Railtech is looking to produce a new line of ready-to-run ‘O’ gauge products including the Class 43 HST power cars and matching Mk 3 stock. On December 22 LNER’s repainted BR blue set for the East Coast HST farewell arrives at Grantham.

KMS is working with a manufacturing partner to create the new ready-to-run models and is inviting expressions of interest in the project via its website or via 7mm@ kmsrailtech.co.uk. In a press release, KMS said: “Jamie, Karl and Mike all have vast experience with DCC as well as skills from their professional careers in the oil industry that allow us to help our customers in a unique way. We are all keen railway modellers in all scales. Our passion is modern image and we feel that ’modern’ needs a refresh in 7mm!”

The projects will only go ahead if there is sufficient demand and KMS is open to feedback on liveries for the models. The list contains Class 43 HST power cars, HST Mk 3 carriages, locomotive hauled Mk 3 carriages, Mk 3 sleeper carriages, Mk 2D, E and F carriages plus the Mk 2F Driving Brake Second Open (DBSO). Expressions of interest with a refundable deposit are being taken via the KMS website.

Prices and release dates are to be confirmed once the expression of interest phase has been seen through.
