KR Models has received the first engineering prototype (EP) sample of its ‘OO’ gauge Clayton diesel-hydraulic prototype DHP1 for review.

Originally ordered as a Rolls-Royce demonstrator to show off its engines and hydraulic transmission. Clayton modified the Class 17 to suit the requirements needed.

KR Models’ DHP1 will include a 21-pin DCC socket with easy access, directional lighting, heavy die-cast chassis with a centrally mounted motor, etched grilles, sprung buffers and flush glazing.

The model will be available in prototype red, BR green and BR blue liveries with prices set at £160 DCC ready, £190 DCC fitted and £260 DCC sound fitted.
