Millsbridge in 'N' gauge

Based on a real location, this BR steam era layout recaptures the gritty atmosphere of West Yorkshire. RICHARD STOTT explains how it was built and why it has two different gauges of track. Photography,Jonathan Newton.

The layout was first conceived in around 2000, when members of the Huddersfield Railway Modellers decided a new exhibition layout was needed. At the time the club had an almost equal number of ‘N’ gauge and 2mm finescale enthusiasts and so a joint layout was proposed.
