Magic Factory’s all-new 1/35 MRZR D4 is a welcome addition, covering a subject that’s received little attention.
Magic Factory has kept modellers on their toes with a series of well researched releases, the latest being a splendid 1/35 scale dual boxing of the MRZR D4 all-terrain vehicle. Based on the successful Polaris RZR (pronounced ‘razor’) chassis, this ultralight military variant is in service with the armed forces of more than ten nations, including the US Marine Corps (which forms the basis of this release). There are three primary sub-types of the D4: armed reconnaissance, anti-drone plus utility (labelled as ‘common’) and all three can be built from the kit.
In common with other recent releases, Magic Factory’s MRZR D4 Ultralight Tactical All-Terrain Vehicle (2005) is a dual-combo offering, providing parts for two complete models. There are 17 styrene runners in total, plus two photo-etched (PE) brass frets - with parts lacking any attachment gates - ten metal springs and 12 tyres. While there are duplicates of most runners/frets, there are three ‘solos’ – these provide for the clear components (Runner B) and a lightweight trailer (Runners C and D)
