TINY TIGER I IMPROVEMENTS FROM MASTER

Poland’s Master Model has three super-useful new upgrades for 1/72 Tiger I tank builds…

TINY TIGER I IMPROVEMENTS FROM MASTER

If you plan to build the famous Tiger I tank in 1/72 scale – there are kits by Dragon, Fujimi, Airfix, Hasegawa and others – the new improvements from Master Model can bring a decent helping of refinement and accuracy.

Resin and metal

Set GM-72-021 (£8.60, above) offers a highly detailed standard mantlet, widest part of the main gun and an early muzzle brake in resin. The main part of the KwK36 L/56 88mm gun is in turned aluminium and you also receive an MG 34 barrel with two muzzles in turned brass. The machine-gun muzzle and spare are tiny indeed, and you’ll need ultra-fine tweezers to manipulate them.

Provided in set GM-72-022 (£8.60, above) is the same aluminium gun barrel but with a late muzzle brake and final version mantlet, along with the same MG 34 barrel/muzzle pieces.

It’s a case of all resin in set GM-72-023 (£6.60, above), which supplies three different styles of Tiger I mantlet in resin, one featuring convincing Zimmerit texture cast in situ.

All three sets are available via UK importer Hannants.
