The model railway layouts attending the GB Railfreight Weekend at the Nene Valley Railway on September 7/8 2024 will be featuring a series of special guest models - including the latest samples from Bachmann, Cavalex Models and more.
Topping the billing is a fully working engineering sample of the eagerly awaited Bachmann Class 69 Co-Co for 'OO' gauge. This project is developing with the latest sample to be seen at the GBRf Gala featuring Bachmann's new auto-uncoupling feature as well as a full suite of lighting functions. It will be running on East Coast Cement throughout the weekend - look out for it in the cement yard demonstrating the DCC operated uncoupling process.
Also joining the line up is one of the latest decorated samples from Cavalex Models capturing GBRf operated Class 60 60087 in the distinctive blue and orange colour scheme of the freight operator. This sample has already seen a month of service on Making Tracks 4 in Chester Cathedral and will now be taking its turn at the head of biomass trains on East Coast Cement.
Further model guests will be revealed at the weekend of the GBRf Gala for the 'OO' gauge layouts on show at Wansford.
In addition, the Hornby Magazine/Key Model World team have been pulling out the stops to assemble a comprehensive fleet of GBRf locomotives to fill both East Coast Cement and Natford TMD for the weekend. Running will be examples of the Class 08, 20, 47, 57, 60, 66 and 92 fleets including a wide range of colourful liveries.
All the model railways for the GB Railfreight Weekend will be located at the Nene Valley Railway's Wansford station with the two 'OO' gauge layout being joined by 'TT:120' scale layout Twelvemill Bridge - the latter located on Platform 1 at Wansford with the Key Model World Shop stand.
