Modelsvit’s Mustang Makes Return: 1/48 P-51H

Ukrainian firm Modelsvit has announced it is to release a new version of its highly regarded 1/48 P-51H Mustang kit.

This new iteration (4821) follows the initial 2019 tooling, with both depicting the ‘lightweight’ P-51H variant developed late in World War Two and used operationally following the conflict. Changes from the P-51D included a refined engine/supercharger arrangement, improved propeller, lengthened fuselage and increased tailfin area.

The quarter-scale kit will comprise 200 components, with a photo-etched metal fret, rubber tyres and inner/outer painting masks supplied. Construction options will include an open/closed canopy, raised/lowered flaps plus rockets and fuel tanks can be mounted on the wings. Decals are planned to cater for four US Air Force airframes:
