Having released two air-defence variants, Modelsvit extends its 1/72 Mirage 2000 family with a new ground-attack ‘D’ boxing, as CHRIS CLIFFORD reveals.
A modern, new-tool 1/72 Mirage 2000 tooling was long overdue when Ukraine’s Modelsvit issued its 2000C in 2021. While it sits in the limited-run format, the kit is streets ahead of older items by the likes of Heller/Airfix and Italeri, as it offers fine recessed panel lines and exquisite detail. Paint masks and photo-etched (PE) brass refinements come as standard.

While Modelsvit has since released the upgraded 2000-5F (full build here), it has now turned its attention to a ‘mud-moving’ sub-type, the 2000D (item 72075). Three new runners are supplied, along with a reworked PE fret and fresh decals for three French Air Force airframes.
