To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the N Gauge Society it has produced the first pure industrial ready-to-run locomotive for ‘N’ gauge – the Hunslet 0-6-0 diesel hydraulic. MIKE WILD inspects this enticing new release for 2mm scale.
PURE INDUSTRIAL locomotives, certainly accurate ones, have been something of a rarity in ‘N’ gauge. We’ve had the Graham Farish Hunslet 'Austerity’ - which doubled as an LNER ‘J94’ 0-6-0ST – and we’ve also seen industrial versions of the Graham Farish Class 04 diesel shunters, but none have gone as far as this all-new model from the N Gauge Society. The N Gauge Society (NGS) selected this Hunslet 0-6-0DH as its ready-to-run project to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the society. We should say straight away that this model is only available to NGS club members, but by the time you have read what we have to say about this exciting new addition we are sure you will want to become a member just to own one of these little engines.
