Having already produced the MiG-25RU recce trainer in 2020, ICM has now adapted the parts to offer the instructional airframe for interceptor pilots, the MiG-25PU.

Two-seat versions of many combat aircraft instantly offer a more interesting modelling proposition. The MiG-25 is a case in point. While two-seaters usually rely on larger/longer tandem glazing or a wider fuselage with side-by-side glazing, the training variants of the mighty MiG-25 Foxbat ditched that format entirely, relying on separate stepped tandem cockpits instead.

ICM pleased legions of modellers when it offered new toolings of the MiG-25, first in 1/48, then in 1/72, replicating interceptor and reconnaissance variants. Unsurprisingly, two-seat airframes were also on the cards. The MiG-25RU recce trainer came in 2020, allowing Foxbat fans to portray the ‘so ugly it’s cool’ cockpit layout; noticeably different to the type’s usually sleek single-seat outline.
