Ellis Clark launches 'OO' gauge 'Quad-Arts'

Ellis Clark Trains has revealed plans for a set of all-new ‘OO’ gauge Gresley Quad-Art carriages.

Representing the company’s first foray into ‘OO’ gauge, the new Quad-Art four-car articulated sets will appear under the Clark Railworks banner.

Working closely with the Midland & Great Northern (M&GN) Joint Railway Society and the North Norfolk Railway, the new models will feature an impressive specification. In launching the new project, Ellis Clark thanked the railway and the society for their invaluable assistance, “We have worked very closely both with the M&GN society and the NNR, who have been invaluable throughout the whole process. We'd like to express our sincere thanks to both, for all the advice, info, history and help they have given us to date. We've travelled down to the railway countless times over the past 18 months and simply couldn't have done it without them.”

Clark Railworks’ all-new ‘OO’ gauge models will feature detailed bodies with separately fitted grab rails, fully detailed die-cast chassis with pipework, brake equipment and fittings, interior detailing with correct height seats and etched luggage racks, electrical pick-ups, ‘low glow’ interior lighting (magnetic switch operated), separately fitted roof vents, magnetic and push-fit roofs and more.

The models will also feature sprung centre connectors designed to work on second radius curves, removable NEM coupler pockets and sprung buffers on the brake end vehicles. They will also be designed for straightforward P4/EM conversion.

Liveries planned include LNER teak, BR crimson and BR maroon.

Priced at £325 per four-car set, release is expected during the third quarter of 2024.
