PFALZ BIPLANE RETURNS IN 1/48
Eduard’s ‘quarter-scale’ Pfalz D.III has been continuously upgraded and reworked by the firm since its original 1990s release. It’s now back again in D.IIIa format, as a Weekend Edition kit.
Last produced in 2017, Eduard’s Pfalz D.IIIa has returned in the company’s budget Weekend format, offering fantastic value for what you receive in the box. While none of the photo-etched metal, resin or tape masks seen in Limited Edition and ProfiPACK releases is present, kit 8414 offers decals for four highly attractive aircraft, two large sheets full of lozenge pattern and rib tape decals, and clear acetate film for the winscreen.
The kit comes on two styrene runners and the detail still stands up well. Highlights include a complete (and reasonably well-appointed) engine, seatbelts in decal form, and the instructions feature a rigging diagram.
The kit costs just £9.76 direct from Eduard (www.eduard.com) or £13.40 at Hannants (www.hannants.co.uk)
