Pioneer Class 97 for Accurascale

Network Rail pioneer Class 97 97301 is the latest ‘OO’ gauge project to be unveiled by Accurascale and the first in a range of special edition Accurascale Exclusives which will only be available through the company’s website.

This latest Class 37 Co-Co diesel will represent the first of the fleet of four refurbished Network Rail locomotives equipped with the European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) for use on the Cambrian route. It was renumbered 97301 in 2007.

Accurascale’s new model will incorporate a five-pole centrally mounted motor, twin flywheels, heavy chassis, helical gearing, separately applied detail parts and correct mismatched nose ends. It will also feature representation of the Hitachi ERTMS equipment, a first for a ready-to-run ‘OO’ gauge Class 37. Digital Command Control (DCC) sound-fitted models will also feature an ESU Loksound 5 decoder, twin speakers and a powerpack.

Prices are set at £169.99 for DCC ready models and £259.99 for DCC sound-fitted examples. Delivery is expected in late 2020.
