Surely 152ft was enough? Definitely not. Pete Waterman and the Railnuts are targeting new heights for the Making Tracks layout at Model World LIVE on April 27/28 2024 by creating four new extensions which will join the original Making Tracks 1, 2 and 3 layouts to offer an unrivaled 'OO' gauge model of the West Coast Main Line.
It will stretch 208ft along Hall 12 of the NEC at the new April event and features brand-new scenes recreating Blisworth north of Milton Keynes followed by Watford Junction, Bushey viaduct and Bushey station. It will be an incredible spectacle with scale length Class 390 Pendolinos passing through three stations, stopping Class 350s calling at the locations, freight trains hauled by classes 37, 56, 60, 66, 70, 86 and 90 running in between and with a total scenic length of more than 250ft following the addition of an extra scenic board on the approach to Carpenters Park bridge after Bushey.
