Railmen of Kent join the
Great Electric Train Show
Hornby Magazine’s Great Electric Train Show in Manchester is shaping up with the latest additions to the layout line up including Great Model Railway Challenge 2019 winners the Railmen of Kent.
The group will be displaying all three of their competition layouts at the new event on March 13/14 2021 at EventCity in Manchester – see pages 104-111 for a full feature on the Railmen of Kent’s models from the television show.
Also confirmed for the show are Tony Kell’s Burdale Quarry in Scale 7 (HM150), Eric Farragher’s Clifton and Lowther in ‘N’ gauge (HM138), Redruth MRC’s Hoopers Aggregates in ‘OO’, Hornby Magazine’s Twelve Trees Junction (HM159), Mark Pollard’s Old Elm Park in ‘O’ gauge (HM141) and Charles Insley’s Kinwardine Wharf in ‘OO9’ narrow gauge. Further layouts will be announced in the run up to the show.
The new venue at EventCity adds a second Great Electric Train Show event to the calendar for 2021 (HM159). Highlights include free parking, easy access from the national motorway network via the M60, public transport links from Manchester city centre via Metrolink, disabled access and refreshments on site.
