Rails reveals exclusive ‘N’ gauge Dynamometer car

Rails of Sheffield and Locomotion Models have announced details of an exclusive version of Rapido Trains UK’s forthcoming ‘N’ gauge LNER Dynamometer car as it appears today at the Railway Museum at York.

Rails of Sheffield and Locomotion Models are to exclusively sell the LNER dynamometer car as it appears today in the Railway Museum

The dynamometer car was built for the North Eastern Railway in 1906 to accurately record the performance of steam locomotives. It was most famously used on July 3 1938, coupled behind LNER ‘A4’ 4-6-2 4468 Mallard when the locomotive broke the world speed record for steam. It was withdrawn in 1954 and was immediately preserved.

This exclusive model will only be available from Rails of Sheffield and Locomotion Models, priced at £99.95. Release is expected during the final quarter of 2024.
