Rails approves 18000 artwork

Rails of Sheffield has approved livery artwork for its new ‘OO’ gauge 18000 BR gas turbine locomotive.

Built by Brown, Boveri and Cie in Switzerland in the late 1940s, three 4mm scale models of this unique gas turbine-electric locomotive are planned in BR gloss black with silver trim (Cat No. 1800), BR green with early crests (1801) and BR green with late crests (1802).

Rails’ exclusive ‘OO’ gauge model is being developed and manufactured by Heljan with an impressive specification which includes spoked wheels, heavy die-cast metal chassis, centrally-mounted five-pole motor, flywheels, 21-pin Digital Command Control (DCC) decoder socket, etched grilles, sprung buffers, directional LED lighting and more. Optional Western Region style train reporting number frame and numerals will also be included within the package for customer fitment.

Priced £199.99 each, pre-orders are now being taken, with delivery anticipated in late 2020.
