MUSEUM SHOPS are an important income source for many historical institutions, so their mid-June reopening (in line with UK government guidelines) mean there is welcome news from the Newark Air Museum. This Nottinghamshire-based organisation announced a preliminary ‘Order and Collect’ service from June 2, 2020, until its shop reopens on June 16. Opening hours are limited to Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 10am-11am for museum members and 11am-4pm for the general public – full details are at: www.newarkairmuseum.org/NAM_Shop_To_Re-Open. The website also highlights risk assessments and operating methods to ensure the shop is COVID-19 safe, such as taking payment by card over the telephone or cash on collection. All profits from the sales will be put towards the Newark Air Museum’s ongoing development, helping to preserve worthy exhibits and aviation history.
