For Luftwaffe fans craving something beyond the norm, Revell’s reintroduced Arado Ar E 555 could be the perfect project. First issued in 1998, with just one re-release since, this 1/72 kit replicates one of wartime Germany’s designs for a long-range, high-speed bomber capable of reaching the Soviet Union and, notably, the USA. Like most of its ilk, it remained firmly on the drawing board… but presents an opportunity for modellers to explore a fascinating ‘what-if’ subject and the first in Revell’s new P-Series range. This acts as an umbrella for other Luftwaffe ‘project’ aircraft kits issued previously by Revell to be reintroduced in a semi-regular theme. Another I’m sure we’ll see, in time, is Revell’s own Messerschmitt Me 1099 – and perhaps even Dragon’s Me 1101 originally from 1993 but re-boxed by Revell five years later.
