New-tool Revell 1/24 N-1 Starfighter

Leaping straight from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, Revell has released updated information on its eagerly anticipated 1/24 N-1 Starfighter

If there’s one aspect of the Disney+ Star Wars series that has thrilled viewers, it’s been the spaceships, with The Mandalorian debuting several new types, of which a heavily modified Naboo N-1 Starfighter is the latest – soon to be available in kit form courtesy of Revell. First introduced in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, the sleek Naboo spacecraft has received a major workover after being found discarded on Tatooine, for a ‘souped-up’ appearance as seen initially in a crossover episode of Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett, as the new mount for Mandalorian Din Djarin and his companion Grogu (aka Baby Yoda).

Notable changes from the gleaming yellow starfighter seen in the films include an overall metallic finish, with just a few stripes of the original colour remaining (the rest being ground off during its restoration). There’s also a pressurised dome for Grogu to sit in – although it’s also compatible with an R5 astromech – but on several occasions, the ‘youngster’ has preferred to leave this elevated position and sit in the cockpit with Din Djarin.

Parts are presented on nine styrene runners, including a clear frame for the glazing and a neat three-piece stand.

All these changes have been captured faithfully by Revell which, as these images show, has gone all out with its 1/24 N-1 Starfighter (06787), allowing modellers to build this sleek vessel with Grogu either in the astrodome or in the cockpit, plus an option for an R5 unit in the former position.

Revell will also be releasing a dedicated six-colour 14ml enamel paint set from it's new 'Email Color' paint range: 32203 N-1 Starfighter, priced at £16.49.

The completed kit will measure 457mm in length, making it an impressive model, and the 1/24 N-1 Starfighter is expected to retail for £61.99.
