‘N’ Pendolino rerun?
Revolution Trains (RT) is seeking expressions of interest for another production run of its ‘N’ gauge Class 390 Pendolino Electric Multiple Unit (EMU).
Manufactured by Rapido Trains of Canada, it is now more than two years since RT’s ‘N’ gauge Pendolinos first appeared in a raft of Virgin Trains liveried identities. Since then, revised colour schemes have appeared on the prototypes and RT is proposing new ‘N’ gauge models in these guises in nine and 11-car forms. Plans include Virgin ‘flowing silk’, DfT plain pale grey and Avanti West Coast’s early and revised liveries. An example in earlier Virgin Trains colours is also proposed.
Prices are currently estimated at £330 for nine-car and £370 for 11-car Pendolinos and production will only go ahead if sufficient expressions of interest are received for respective colour schemes. A deadline of September 30 2020 has been set for registering.
