Revolution receives Alcan PCA EP

Revolution Trains has received the first engineering prototype (EP) sample of its forthcoming ‘OO’ gauge Alcan PCA alumina powder wagon for scrutiny by the development team.

43 PC020A air-discharged powder wagons were built for British Aluminium Alcan in the late 1980s. They are used on block trains of alumina between North Blyth and the aluminium smelter at Fort William in the West Highlands.

Revolution Trains’ all-new models will be available in original grey with blue Alcan branding, unbranded grey, Rio Tinto Alcan, Liberty/Lochaber and Alvance liveries.

Following a few minor amendments, production has been approved and decorated samples are expected before the end of the year.

Wagons will be available in packs of four vehicles, featuring individually numbered PCAs across the five planned colour schemes. Four packs will be produced in original Alcan livery, three packs each in unbranded grey, Rio Tinto Alcan and Liberty/Lochaber schemes and a single Alvance pack.

Currently priced at £149.95 per four-wagon pack, production is slated during the first half of 2023.
