Second sample
for Hornby APT
Hornby has received a second updated engineering sample of its new Class 370 Advanced Passenger Train for ‘OO’ gauge following on from the first sample shown in the Great Electric Train Show Virtual Exhibition in October.
The updated sample includes revised part joints as well as other engineering improvements and provides a full working sample of a seven-coach train pack (Cat No. R3874) and it will also be available in a five-car train pack (R3873). The two units will be delivered in different liveries with the fivecar set modelling 370003 and 370004 with plain yellow ends and the seven-car pack 370001 and 370002 with black windshield panels and final APT logos.
Both versions will require three 8-pin decoders to operate the full train with digital control – one for each driving car and one for the power car – while additional trailers are being produced to allow a full 14-coach formation to be assembled.
Release is anticipated in the first half of 2021 with prices set at £394.99 for R3873 and £484.99 for R3874.
