Modellers wanting to recreate either a dockyard or amphibious landing scene in 1/700 have received a huge boost from Starling Models, which has released a series of World War Two vehicles in this scale.
AMW received samples of five products: STA50 AEC Matador, STA54 Morris Quad and 25pdr Gun, STA55 Leyland Receiver, STA59 Austin K2 Ambulance and STA60 M4A4 Sherman. All but the Quad and 25pdr are single-piece items, with four of each in a pack – the Matadors have solid windscreens, but those on the Receiver and K2 are open, with incredibly delicate framework. The tractor and gun set has enough parts for two models, and comprises a one-piece Quad, with separate limber, 25-pdr and circular firing platform, making for an impressively detailed miniature, regardless of scale.
Other products in this range include Bren Carriers, Sexton self-propelled guns and various Bedford truck types, allowing for a varied scene to be replicated. All retail for £4 each. Further details are available via: www.starling-models.co.uk
