WHEN IT comes to combining ease of build with high levels of detail there are few manufacturers to rival Tamiya, and its 1/24 Ford Mustang GT is no exception.

This newly tooled offering (24354) comprises five styrene runners (including frames for the transparencies and chrome-plated parts) and a single-piece bodyshell, plus self-adhesive paint masks and four vinyl tyres. Despite the usual low parts count that modellers expect from Tamiya, it’s packed with detail, from the superbly replicated transmission and suspension to the well-appointed cab interior – seat harnesses are supplied in decal form. It can be finished as either #17 at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed or #18 as the 2018 Ford official car – if the latter is selected then the model can be built without the need for paint, thanks to the coloured styrene. This is a stunning model and is likely to be popular with fans of auto subjects.
