Tamiya’s new-tool 1/48 F-35A proves a stealth fighter can be easy to build yet packed with interesting features, as Mike Williams discovered.
Whenever Tamiya announces a new kit, it is always met with a warm reception because modellers just know that it will be a dream to build. Such is the firm’s reputation, the subject or genre doesn’t matter – a new-tooled kit from Tamiya is always something to be excited about. Its all-new 1/48 F-35A Lightning II is no exception. Just looking through the box and perusing the instructions fills you with a sense of anticipation that few other kit manufacturers can match. As we were to find out, Tamiya’s reputation remains intact with its 1/35 F-35A Lightning II model, and the bar just keeps being raised higher with every new product the company releases.
