Jay Blakemore settles in for the long haul when he takes on Thunder Model’s highly detailed 1/35 Scammell Pioneer SV/2S recovery tractor.
First produced in 1927, the Scammell Pioneer was designed primarily for use in Britain’s colonies, where paved or metalled roads were few and far between. Despite lacking all-wheel drive, its low-revving engine combined with highly adaptable articulated suspension gave the vehicle impressive traction when travelling over rough terrain.
