SMALL-SCALE GERMAN BUNKERS BY TORO

ToRo Model continues to delight military fans with its figures and other items. Its latest product, entitled Kochbunker 1944, provides eight German ‘pre-fab’ bunkers of different formats, which were employed along the Siegfried Line and in East Prussia. ‘Koch’ translates as cook… alluding to the bunker’s appearance, similar to a cooking pot with lid.

There are hints of wispy casting flash here and there but this is removed easily, and all the roof sections are separate… several having differently sized openings for personnel to employ binoculars or periscopes. Vision ports in the walls feature on some bunkers here, and all have the required access openings in there rear walls. Consultation of reference photos show these bunkers sited at the end of a small trench, the latter lined with wooden supports.
