Based around a main line with a colliery loading point, Boston Model Railway Club’s ‘OO’ gauge layout models the changing liveries of the 1980s and 1990s diesel scene, as DAVID CURRIE reveals.

SINCE MOVING to new premises we found our old club layout was far too heavy and bulky to carry up and down the stairs safely. The old layout was built on two heavy 6ft x 3ft baseboards and consisted of a diesel depot as the main operational feature with a low level two track main line to add interest, each having a storage yard with three sidings.
