VIDEO: EFE Rail
Class 17 for 'N'

The Class 17 is proving to be a popular addition to the new EFE Rail brand from Bachmann. We put one of the new Type 1 Bo-Bo diesels through its paces on Barrenthorpe for this video feature.

THE CLASS 17 Type 1 Bo-Bo diesels are far more popular than they were successful. These 1960s centre-cab twin-engine diesels were notoriously unreliable in service with BR and the last were withdrawn during 1971.

In model form however, they have always been a popular class with Heljan's 'OO' gauge model selling very well indeed. 'N' gauge is now the recipient of an all-new model of the Class 17 through Bachmann's new EFE Rail brand. The tooling is owned by Kernow Model Rail Centre and this attractive and compact diesel is being offered in BR green and blue liveries (including options for weathered finishes) as well as Ribble Cement industrial colours.

For this video feature we put the new Class 17 to work on our 'N' gauge test track Barrenthorpe. Watch it here and read our full review in HM160 - on sale from September 3 2020 - or online here at KeyModelWorld in the Reviews section.
