West Coast ON SHOW

STAFF PROJECTS

Its 12 months since we started construction of our late 1990s period West Coast Main Line scene for Hornby Magazine Yearbook No. 11 in 2018. Following its appearance at the Hornby Visitor Centre Open Weekend in August, we’re now looking forward to taking it to the Great Electric Train Show on October 12/13. MIKE WILD explains all.

Loadhaul liveried Class 56 56003 passes over the level crossing at the head of a rake of MEA four-wheel coal wagons. This locomotive has been fitted with a Zimo MX645R sound decoder (HM130). The cement works is the original Walthers kit we built for Shortley Bridge and Felton Cement Works.

The Hornby Magazine team is always busy behind the scenes. This is what they’ve been up to.

MIKE WILD

August saw Mike focused on exhibition preparations, while September looks set to be a month of construction and scenery for the annual Yearbook projects.

MARK CHIVERS

Mark's airbrush was working overtime in the run-up to Hornby event. Even so, he's still got more wagons to prepare ahead of the Great Electric Train Show.
