The big-selling Quickbuild range from Airfix offers aircraft, sports cars and other vehicles, and even a Challenger tank. The latest of these Lego-style , snap-together assembly kits is the Lockheed F-35 Lightning II, here in B-model format portraying the short take-off  and vertical landing sub-type.

Designed for children aged 6-plus, the package offers 38 plastic parts, a display stand and a sheet of self-adhesive stickers. You can build it in ‘clean’ condition, or as if in the hover with the rear engine rotated downwards and open doors. Markings for the UK and US Marine Corps are supplied, as well as a display stand.
